Everyone knows a day at work can sometimes seem so unachievable. We’re just human; susceptible to the dips and swells of energy and motivation. To get through the day, we have our ups and downs, bursts of energy and moments when all we want is a nap. So, how do we actually get through those days? It's the little things, those tiny sparks of brightness that flicker and help us keep going until the clock finally strikes freedom.

What’s your morale booster? For some, just a morning cup of coffee or a banana sets you up for a great day. For others, it’s a simple post-it note saying ‘good job’, left on the desk, that affirms your work and boosts your confidence. These small gestures give you that much-needed high-five you need to finish the day.

Then, there are moments when the four walls of the office feel like they're closing in. That's when going for a welcomed walk in the park can be a total game changer. It can be like hitting a mental reset button. The change of scenery, the feel of the breeze – it's enough to help you tackle the afternoon with a slightly lighter step.

At Fred, we value teamwork and building a friendly environment where we can rely on each other personally and professionally. These bonds help to take our minds away from the stresses of work, whether it’s a quick ‘big sister chat’ or having our favourite team member George in the office for some puppy time.

We all go through the lows to celebrate the highs, but it makes those highs even better. And we definitely celebrate the wins together, with quarterly team socials to take a step back from work and enjoy each other’s company. Not to mention our Pizza & Prosecco lunches to commemorate team wins internally. The one-hour lunch break may be slightly exceeded on these days.

These are a few ways in which the team at Fred likes to enjoy the highs and build up each other’s emotional bank accounts. What’s yours?
